2009 Symposium Update
I can hardly believe June has arrived and I am now the official Chair- Elect for DNS. We have just concluded the DNS symposium. I am sitting in my hotel room in Seattle writing you this message. As you probably have already heard-- it was a great success. I especially enjoyed hearing from Dr. Lingtak- Neander Chan's presentation on antioxidant use in the Critical Ill as well as Beth Taylor and Ainsly Malone's presentation on using Evidence Based Guidelines in practice. All the presentaitons were great and offered pragmatic and applicable information to help RDs with improving and growing their skill sets for practice.
I took a few pics of some of our speakers during the symposium and hope to have our Web Coordinator help me load them onto the website for everyone to see. We are also planning a short summary of the Symposium to put up on the website in the next few weeks. Two very young and enthusiatic RDs will be giving their opinion on the some of the sessions they attended. I will let folks know when we are ready to post that in the news.
Additionally, The executive committee of DNS has met today and we have reviewed all the plan of work for the upcoming year. It is with great excitement that I start these new duties and leave the Treasurer job in good hands with Bob DeChicco.
Stay tuned for new product news by the end of the year!
As always, I would love to hear from any of our members... drop me a line and let me know how DNS can help you!
Sincerely and kind regards,
Mary Hise
