Satisfied DNS Professional Development Scholarship Recipient

I appreciate the opportunity that the DNS Professional Development Scholarship provided me in being able to participate in the recent ASPEN Teleseminar “Nutrition and Improving Outcomes in the Critically Ill.”

Our facility has received the SCCM/ASPEN Practice guidelines and is in the process of implementing a few of the guidelines within our ICUs. As the lead dietitian in this process, I found the teleseminar interesting and the information presented provided me with support for the way we are currently addressing our ICU patients. 

I do look forward to trying out the Penn State University – Miflin based energy calculation formula and comparing it to the estimation equations we currently use (based on kcal/kg charts developed before my arrival at this facility). Thank you again DNS!
