Call For Nominations for DNS Distinguished Service Award and DNS Distinguished Practice Award

DNS Distinguished Service Award

The purpose of this award is to formally recognize a DNS member who has:

1. Demonstrated outstanding leadership at the local, state, and/or national level(s) in the practice of nutrition support dietetics either in an elected or appointed position(s).

2. Contributed to the advancement of dietetics practice in the area of nutrition support through research, publication, or education of practitioners with particular attention to the area of nutrition support.

Qualification:

The nominee must be a current member of the American Dietetic Association in good standing and must be a member of Dietitians in Nutrition Support at the time of the nomination and the presentation of the award.

DNS Distinguished Practice Award

The purpose of this award is for DNS to offer formal recognition to a DNS member who has:

1. Demonstrated outstanding clinical knowledge and skills in the field of nutrition support

2. Contributed to the advancement of the field of nutrition support through research, publications, and/or education of practitioners

3. Provided leadership in dietetics practice, primarily in the area nutrition support, at the local, state, and/or national level either in an elected or appointed position(s).

Qualifications:

The nominee must be a member of The American Dietetic Association in good standing and must be a member of Dietitians in Nutrition Support for at least 2 years at the time of the nomination and the presentation of the award. Furthermore, the nominee must be currently practicing in nutrition support or have been a practicing clinician in nutrition support within the previous 5 years.

Previous winners of the Distinguished Practice Award or Distinguished Service Award and members serving on the DNS Nominating Committee or Executive Committee at the time the award is received are ineligible for nomination.
