DNS is proud to announce a two part series of webinars on electrolytes in nutrition support.

The first webinar, Electrolytes: The Missing Piece, provides basic information about electrolyte additives to parenteral nutrition.

Parenteral nutrition is a complex admixture that may contain as many as 40 compounds. PN's complexity makes it more prone to prescriber errors and potential PN-related complications. Dietitians can help prescribers avoid errors and potential complications. However, few dietitians feel comfortable with managing electrolytes. Electrolytes are added to parenteral nutrition admixtures in varying amounts and can be manipulated to address electrolyte disturbances. This webinar will provide an overview of electrolyte basics and will serve as the precursor to the February webinar: Electrolyte Management in Parenteral Nutrition: A Case Study Approach.

Relatively new to DNS-unfortunately missed Part 1 of Electrolye Management Webinar, but did attend FNCE lecture in November-not quite sure if this content encompasses most of part 1. Will there be a way to view part 1 or obtain the handouts prior to viewing part 2 on feb 22nd.

The handouts for the upcoming webinar are accessible from the DNS Store. To access the handouts attendees need to log in to their DNS Store account. After log in, select "My courses" located on the left hand side. Following this, select the "Electrolyte" webinar which will take attendees to the web page where a pdf of the PowerPoint handout is located.

I believe the cost for the webinar will be $25 for DNS members and $35 for non-members. Registration will be available in the next few days.
