CADE to Change its Name to ACEND
The Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) will be changing its name to the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND). The new name communicates the fundamental relationship between nutrition and dietetics and reflects our on-going desire to improve the quality of education and our accreditation system. Our scope of accreditation and our participation as a Title IV gatekeeper recognized by the U.S. Department of education remains unchanged. The name change will go into effect in January 2012; however, accredited programs have until June 1, 2012 to update their websites and records.
