    Posted 19 days ago

    Hello all!

I am the only ICU dietitian at my facility and I am looking to start placing feeding tubes. Docs and nurses and very much on board with it. Do I have to receive any type of credentialing or certification to say I am allowed to do this (beyond hospital policy)? Or is it simply within our scope of practice? They do not have contrak machines - they simply place them and confirm via X-ray. Thank you

Hey Aimee! At the OSU Wexner Medical Center, RD's who place feeding tubes are required to have their CNSC. But I want to say it is also generally within our scope of practice, no specialty certification needed!
