Each year, the Academy Foundation makes available over 35 awards for Academy members. Awards are available for students as well as practicing RDNs. Award amounts range from $250-$5,000. Awards listed below are focused in the areas of malnutrition

Wimpfheimer-Guggenheim Fund for International Exchange in Nutrition, Dietetics and Management 

The Wimpfheimer–Guggenheim Fund for International Exchange in Nutrition, Dietetics and Management is offering a $1,100 award for an essay describing a ground breaking education program or model aimed at solving malnutrition. Essay submissions describing non-traditional educational methods are encouraged. The project described should be adaptable to a variety of settings.     

Abbott Nutrition Alliance Award  

This award will recognize up to four Academy members on an annual basis working in a hospital setting who have made a significant contribution to improve awareness of malnutrition and taking action to address the issue. Award amount: $1,400 for each recipient.

 


 

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, through the Academy Positions Committee (APC), is soliciting for volunteers to serve as authors, content advisors and reviewers for the following papers. APC is inviting you to identify individuals qualified to serve in these roles, or, if you have expertise in any of the areas below and have interest in working on the development of a paper, please request an application.

Selection of author/s, a content advisor and external reviewers will begin when an adequate applicant pool is acquired. Please see qualifications to serve as author, content advisor or reviewer for academy position and/or practice paper.

  • Integration of Medical Nutrition Therapy and Pharmacotherapy

Practice Papers:

  • Using Dietary Reference Intakes
  • Communicating Accurate Food and Nutrition Information

Position and Practice Papers on the Same Topic:

  • Nutrition Intervention in the Treatment of Eating Disorders
  • Addressing Racial and Ethnic Health Disparities
